Autistic Senior Portrait
April is Autism Awareness Month, so I thought I’d share this session I shot recently. Kristin has autism and is getting ready to graduate high school this spring. She and her family live in Idaho, but occasionally come to California to visit family. On one of these trips, I met up with Kristin and her parents so that I could shoot her senior pictures. Photographing seniors with autism presents a little bit of a challenge, but I’ve worked with children, (and adults,) with autism in the past, so I was up to the task. It really was a wonderful session. Kristin was eager to cooperate and willing to try any pose that I suggested. We did the session at Hillcrest Park in Fulleron and wandered around for about an hour until I could see that she was ready to be done. By this time, I knew we had plenty of pix to choose from, so we called it a day. Here’s a few images from that session.
